چکیده

This paper presents a Scott transformer model to be applied in electromagnetic transients (EMT) programs, particularly the absence of detailed for performing real-time simulations (RTS). Regarding transformer, common topology converting three-phase network into two single-phase networks, EMT programs is essential simulate large-scale electric railway systems. A code-based has been developed RTS directly and contain transformer’s actual impedance characteristics. By establishing mathematical foundation with current injection method, we presented matrix representation conjunction solution programs. The proposed can handle more practical parameters transformers relatively low computational load. Thus, it supports flexible computation simulators finite number processor units. accuracy verified by simulating comparing simulation results an industrial certified performance. Furthermore, case study involving comparison field measurement data Korean system demonstrated efficacy model.

Algorithms for Distributed Computation of Electromagnetic Transients towards PC Cluster Based Real-Time Simulations

This paper describes algorithms for the distributed computation of electromagnetic transients in a power system. Conventional simulators based on parallel computing utilize traveling-time delays due to Bergeron’s representation of transmission lines in order to divide the network of interest into subnetworks, and each subnetwork is assigned to a single CPU to solve the decoupled sets of the cir...

Numerical Oscillations in Electromagnetic Transients Programs

The Electromagnetic transients progr am and its variants all use the “trapezoidal rule” numerical integration method. The trapezoidal rule is a second order numerical integration technique that is simple to implement. However, it is also susceptible to numerical oscillations when differentiat ing step changes in voltage and current. The program user should be aware of the potential for these os...

Efficient HVDC Converter Model for Real Time Transients Simulation

An efficient model has been developed to simulate High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Converters in real-time transient simulators. Real time performance of 45 μs per solution step has been achieved for a 12-pulse monopolar converter and 81 μs for the bipolar converter using a single processor Pentium Pro 200 MHz desktop computer. The HVDC converter model is solved simultaneously with the power ...
